Personal Branding Photography

First of all, if you’ve made it this far to this brochure… Thank you!

I’m thrilled that you’re considering working with me for some branding photography. It’s not a task that I will ever take lightly, and I honestly can’t wait to get started!

I’ll be honest: I’m a business owner too, and I know how daunting it can be to hire someone else’s services. We’re constantly bombarded with motivational Instagram posts and messages that tell us that we can (and should?) do it all, that setting up your own website isn’t that hard and Canva is the Holy Grail of graphic design… And who needs a photographer anyway when your smartphone takes such nice pictures and your other half doesn’t mind taking and retaking the same photo for 2 hours straight in your back garden?!

But here’s the thing: all of this takes time, and that’s time you could be spending doing all the things that really make you happy… honing your craft, creating a new piece of jewellery, developing a new product or service… And I’m a huge believer in human connection, too. There’s nothing like sharing your story, bouncing ideas off someone and watching a common vision come to life. With personal branding photography, you’re not just investing in your business, you’re investing in yourself!

I like to describe my style of photography as earthy and genuine, with a touch of folkloric. It directly takes its roots in who I am: an introvert with a love for literature, stories and nature.

I am not only here to take nice pictures. I am here to get to know you and your business, and to work out the best way to tell your story so that your ideal clients or audience instantly connect with it. Trust is a key ingredient, especially when it comes to letting me point a camera at your face for a lengthy period of time, and I’ve found that trust blooms and grows best when we get to meet, either face to face or virtually! After your initial enquiry, we’ll schedule a video call or a meeting so that we can get to know each other and you can tell me all about your plans, your needs and your vision.

Once we’ve decided we’re a good match, don’t worry — I’ll be there to walk you through every step of the way: what our timeline will be, how to choose the right outfits and search for locations. You’ll get a branding questionnaire, too, and I promise that’ll be your only bit of homework! This will help us get to the deep stuff and really understand your brand aesthetic, your values and your dreams… In short, what makes your business so uniquely yours, and what exactly you are wishing to communicate through your branding photography.

I have a small, portable studio set up with a few backdrops and lights, but as you may have guessed, I mainly shoot in natural light, in a documentary style. I know it feels daunting and uncomfortable having someone pointing a camera at you for more than 30 seconds, so let’s make one thing clear: you don’t need to know how to pose, or which side of your face is your “good side”. You don’t need to worry about how you look, or what to do with your hands — all you need is a little trust. It’s my job to have your back, to know and worry about these things, to see the light and to find all the good angles and see the perfect moments, and I will direct you as much or as little as you need. We’ll go with the flow — and we’ll have fun! I won’t force you into any pose that doesn’t feel like you, or ask you to be anyone but yourself.

I often think of the photoshoots I plan as “walks with a camera”. Because that’s exactly what they are, and what I want them to feel like: we’ll explore the locations we’ve chosen, chat, experiment, maybe even go off-script… I want these sessions to be relaxed, fun and light-hearted, so that you can go home thinking about the lovely time you’ve had and how glad you are to have invested in yourself, rather than worrying about how you’ll look on the photos. The more you relax and enjoy the process, the more it’ll show in the pictures, and the more your light will shine through for all to see.

I typically send a bunch of sneak peeks within a couple of days following the photoshoot, because I’m usually super excited and cannot wait to start editing — and you’ll probably want to have a little something to share right away, too! It takes me around 2 weeks to edit a full gallery, depending on how long we spent together. Your photos will be delivered in an online, password-protected gallery where you’ll be able to download both social media friendy files, and higher res images for all your marketing material needs.

Each photoshoot is entirely tailored to your business and the kind of products and services you sell, but I always try to include a mix of portraits, product shots and lifestyle photography so that you can vary your content as much as possible.
